Being a TEDx speaker has long been a dream of mine, and I was fortunate enough to make it a reality in April 2024. I had the incredible opportunity to speak at TEDx Bund Garden Youth in Pune on the 20th of April to share my insights on a topic that has shaped my perception of deeply relevant issues of mental well being ,creativity and leadership - the tortured artist stereotype.
It was an honour to dive deep into this archetype - the threat it poses to artists of upcoming generations, the misconstrued notion that all great works of art stem from suffering and "absent" creators, and presents the arts as a powerful tool and relevant avenue at the intersection of mental health and expression.
In many ways, it was an avenue to connect the work and research that's gone into Expression Impressions thus far, and I'm immensely grateful to have had this unforgettable opportunity. Thank you to the team at the event for having me, to all who attended, and to the contributors to the Expression Impressions journey thus far.
